Analytics

This site uses Umami, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool. It counts page views and basic interaction events (e.g. download button clicks). No cookies are set. No IP addresses are stored. No personally identifiable information is collected.

Umami runs on our own server (Netcup VPS, Germany). No data leaves the EU. Aggregated analytics data is stored indefinitely.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — we have a reasonable interest in understanding how visitors use our site.

Email list

If you sign up for updates, your email address is stored in our self-hosted Listmonk instance running on our own server (Netcup VPS, Germany). We use double opt-in: you receive a confirmation email before being added to the list.

We only send updates about KRATEO. We never sell or share your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. Your address is deleted upon unsubscription.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

The app

KRATEO DJ runs entirely on your machine. Your music library, training data, and personal information never leave your device.

The app uses the same cookieless Umami analytics as this website to count basic usage events (e.g. which features are opened). No IP addresses are stored. No personally identifiable information is collected. The data is sent to our own server (see above).

Auto-updater

When KRATEO DJ starts, it contacts downloads.krateo.me to check whether a new version is available. Only the current version number is compared. No personal data is transmitted in this request.

Pulse

KRATEO Pulse (pulse.krateo.me) is a real-time crowd feedback tool. When you use Pulse, your browser sends X/Y coordinates (where you tap on the screen) via WebSocket to the Pulse server. These are screen positions — not GPS or location data.

No registration required. No cookies set. No data is stored. Session data exists only in server memory (RAM) and is deleted when the session ends.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Supporter payments (Polar)

If you support KRATEO via "Buy me a record", the payment is processed by Polar.sh (Merchant of Record). We do not receive or store any payment details (credit card numbers, bank data). Polar's own privacy policy applies to the payment process.

Supporter Crate

If you support KRATEO via Polar and choose to add your SoundCloud link, that URL is stored on our server and displayed publicly in the app (the supporter wall). This is entirely voluntary. The link itself is not personal data unless your SoundCloud profile contains your real name.

Server location

All self-hosted services (Umami, Listmonk, Pulse, downloads) run on a Netcup VPS located in Germany. No data is transferred to countries outside the EU.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict processing, port your data, and object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@krateo.me.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The relevant authority is:
